Once again for the 10th year in a row, we participated in WYES Chocolate Sunday at Harrah's casino. It's a fun, Valentine's themed day for all and it's for a great cause, to support the quality local telivision prgramming on our local public broadcasting station, WYES. Check them out here. They're a great station with programs you really can't see anywhere else, and they're really nice, good people to boot.
Here are some pictures of our lovely table at the event. We brought chocolate pralines, assorted chocolate caramel tortues and various solid chocolate novelties.
Our chocolate kitchen got really creative this year, so we had hand-decorated chocolate frogs, cherubs, Mardi Gras masks...
...jewel boxes, unicorns, peanut butter filled and solid chocolate hearts, chocolate Southern Candymakers logo doubloons, amongst other beautiful custom chocolates.
The feature candies that we created especially for the event were extraordinary, such as our Root Beer Float Fudge Shots, with a Root Beer creme flavored fudge to which we added some root beer schnapps to soften it, then squeezed it into tiny handmade chocolate serving cups. Definitely a treat.
We made something we called "Cherry Bombs" by soaking jumbo Queen Anne Maraschino cherries in rum for a few weeks, then serving them in a chocolate cup with their own delicious rummy juice. These were a huge hit and the first thing to run out.
We also had a Thai-Salted Caramel Bark with white and dark chocolate. It was amazing. You could really taste the difference in quality fo the finely-flaked Thai sea salt. It just made all of the other flavors pop. We decorated the bark with tiny little red hearts, as appropriate for the love and Valentine's Day theme, and chopped into tiny multi-layered squares. Beautiful and delicious!
All in all it was a great event, as we had a lot of fun. We've done this event every year since its inaugural year, and it's one of the things we look forward to the most through out the year. We already can't wait until next time. Here's Kaitlin behind our table. You can tell she's having a fun time, right?
Hee Hee.

Thanks so much for reading!
See you soon!
